THE DEPARTMENT of Education denied that some students will use the construction site of a school building in Sta. Rosa, Laguna as a temporary classroom in face-to-face classes.

According to DepEd-Calabarzon, students of Aplaya National High School–Annex will use the two school buildings that have been completed and were turned over to the Schools Division Office in Sta. Rosa City.

“These school buildings, which will temporarily accommodate a portion of the 3,958 learners of APEX, are located in a site intended for Santa Rosa Science and Technology High School,” it said.

The buildings that will temporarily serve as classrooms are in an area reserved for the Santa Rosa Science and Technology High School.

The SDO explained that the construction of the gate and partition walls and minor repairs in the two school buildings are expected to be completed before November 2.

DepEd assured the public that its priority is the safety of the students along with the preparation for full in-person classes.

“The Department of Education Region IV-assures the public of its commitment to put premium in the well-being and safety of the learners in preparation for the full implementation of five-day in-person classes this coming November 2, 2022,” DepEd said.
