DEPED EXPANDS SUMMER LEARNING PROGRAMS TO STRENGTHEN STUDENT RECOVERY
THE DEPARTMENT of Education has expanded its summer remediation programs to help learners recover foundational skills and strengthen academic performance.
The programs will run from May 6 to June 3, 2026.
Education Secretary Sonny Angara underscored the urgency and purpose of the initiative, stressing that no learner should be left behind.
DepEd has rolled out the Academic Recovery and Accessible Learning program, a flagship intervention aimed at strengthening the reading and mathematics skills of about 3.7 million incoming Grade 2 to 11 learners.
For learners nearing graduation, the Senior High School Remediation program provides support to around 2.1 million incoming Grade 12 students, focusing on mastery of essential competencies in English, Filipino, and Mathematics.
Meanwhile, the Summer Academic Remedial Program offers targeted assistance to around 141,000 learners across all grade levels who did not meet required competencies in one or two learning areas, ensuring they receive the support needed to progress with confidence.
