DENR URGES STUDENTS TO JOIN VIDEO CONTEST
THE DEPARTMENT of Environment and Natural Resources, through its Ecosystem Research and Development Bureau, encouraged the youth, especially Senior High School students, to participate in the Enviocon Video Contest.
The video contest, which aims to encourage young people to value and appreciate nature, is open to all SHS students from public and private schools.
Those who want to participate in the video contest must submit a 2 to 4-minute video pitch proposing a new biotechnology invention or solution that would address a specific environmental problem in the country.
The video resolution should be at least 480 pi up to 1080 pi and should feature the student as host or a voice-over speaker. It may include visual aids or graphic design. The proposal should be original and feasible.
Applications should be duly endorsed by a science teacher or principal. Each school should have one student representative only.
Applicants should fill out an application form and attach the endorsement form.
Entries will be judged based on the concept (50 percent), creativity (40 percent), and viewers impact (10 percent).
The first prize winner will receive P30,000 cash plus P10,000 for the school, P20,000 for the second place winner plus P10,000 for the school, and P10,000 for the third placer plus P10,000 for the school.
The DENR will also give away tablets and P1,000 consolation prizes to the top 10 entries and first 20 entries respectively.
Deadline of submission of entries is on November 13, 2020.
