Zamboanga took the advantage as with a minute and a half left in the shot clock, 20-19.

Yet, nothing is really for sure as Alvin Pasaol missed two potential title-clinching foul shots leaving Nueva Ecija to redeem the lead.

However,  Munzon proved why he’s just why the top-ranked 3×3 player in the country stepped up to the plate and boarded a two-pointer shot that sealed the title and the P1 million prize.

“Those are the shots I’ve been taking the tournament,” Munzon said. “It felt good coming out of my hands. I was confident about that shot,” he added.

Munzon and Pasaol both scored 7 points while Santi Santillan and Troy Rike fused in for 8 markers. The team topped 4 out of the 5 legs as well as the preseason inside the ‘CalamBubble.’

“From the start, we had a game plan and we stuck to it,” Munzon pointed.

All in all, the champs took home P1.35 million and had a chance at one of the most awaited experiences heading into the FIBA 3×3 Olympic Qualifying Tournament. While the runner-up rewarded Nueva Ecija took a cash prize of P300,000.

Meanwhile, ‘Air’ David Carlos ruled his fourth Slam Dunk Competition out of five. And in the Two-Point Shootout, Petra Cement-Roxas showcased his supremacy for the fourth time out of five.

Up next for Zamboanga City will be the FIBA 3X3 Doha Masters from November 20-21.

The Scores:

ZAMBOANGA CITY 22 — Munzon 7, Pasaol 7, Santillan 4, Rike 4.
