CHED’S TULONG DUNONG PROGRAM INSPIRES STUDENT TO PURSUE HER DREAM OF BECOMING A TEACHER

/ 2 January 2025

THANKS to Senator Christopher “Bong” Go’s support and the Commission on Higher Education’s Tulong Dunong Program (CHED-TDP), third-year education student Princess Nicole Erigbuagas of Biliran Province State University is closer than ever to fulfilling her dream of becoming a teacher.

“Pangarap ko pong makapagtapos ng pag-aaral at maging guro balang araw para po matulungan ko po ang aking pamilya at makabawi po sa kanilang sakripisyo para sa akin,” Princess shared.

For her, the scholarship goes beyond financial aid—it helps cover daily expenses such as boarding fees, instructional materials, and allowances, while also allowing her to extend some support to her family.

The scholarship grant represents a fresh start and a renewed sense of hope, giving students like Princess the opportunity to focus on their studies and work toward their aspirations.

Through the program, Princess envisions standing before her own classroom someday, inspiring the next generation.

As chairperson of the Senate Committee on Youth, Go remains committed to making education inclusive and accessible. “Ang kabataan ang future leaders at pag-asa ng bayan at edukasyon ang susi sa mas magandang kinabukasan,” he emphasized.

Go has co-authored several education-related laws, including RA 12077, the Student Loan Payment Moratorium During Disasters and Emergencies Act, and RA 12006, the Free College Entrance Examinations Act. He also advocates for expanding the Tertiary Education Subsidy through Senate Bill No. 1360, aimed at easing the financial burden on students.

By supporting programs like CHED-TDP, Senator Go empowers more students like Princess to pursue higher education and achieve their dreams without financial constraints.
