CHED REMAINS ONE OF THE TOP-PERFORMING, MOST TRUSTED GOV’T AGENCIES FOR Q1 2024

THE Commission on Higher Education maintained its position as among the top government agencies with high performance and trust ratings on the latest survey of the OCTA Research, manifesting continued effective delivery of services and commitment to provide equitable and inclusive higher education.

The OCTA Research March 2024 First Quarter Tugon ng Masa (TNM) Survey released Wednesday (17 April 2024) showed that CHED garnered a performance rating of 73% and a trust rating of 73%.

“CHED is grateful to the Filipino public for continuously trusting the Commission as we perform our mandate of providing quality higher education and cultivating an equitable and sustainable higher education landscape. The public can hope that we will keep this trust and continue to improve our programs and services,” Chairman Popoy De Vera said.

The performance rating of CHED is highest in Mindanao wherein 84% of the respondents are satisfied with the implementation and conduct of the initiatives and services of CHED.

“Our direction under Bagong Pilipinas has always been to innovate and enhance the quality of our higher education system. As we approach the 30th anniversary of CHED, this recognition is an additional motivation for us to intensify our efforts to serve the youth and all high education institutions across the country,” he added.

Meanwhile, the trust rating of the Commission is highest in Visayas, 79% of the respondents from the island group were satisfied.

CHED is consistently among the top five government agencies in the performance and trust rating of OCTA in the four quarters of last year.

Other agencies that rated high in the survey for both trust and performance are the Department of Education, Department of Public Works and Highways, Department of Health, and Department of Social Welfare and Development.
