CEU PROF QUALIFIES FOR TRAINING GRANT IN JAPAN
A PROFESSOR of the Centro Escolar University qualified for a three-month training organized by the Japan government through the Japan International Cooperation Agency.
Professor Joy Potenciano Calayo from the School of Medical Technology will train at the Research Institute of Tuberculosis in Japan.
“Prof. Calayo will join the other seven laboratory managers and medical technologists chosen from the numerous applicants from six priority countries which include the Philippines,” CEU said.
“The training will focus on the topic ‘Advanced Diagnostics for Ending TB and AMR in Health Emergency-Basic Technologies to Next Generation Sequencing in Hands-on.’ This will run up to April of this year,” it added.
Calayo is currently the chief medical technologist of San Lazaro Hospital.
She is a Certified Biorisk Officer.
