CBCP: ASSURE SAFETY OF STUDENTS IN F2F CLASSES
THE CATHOLIC Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines called on schools to ensure that students will be safe during face-to-face classes.
Bayombong Bishop Jose Elmer Mangalinao, head of the Episcopal Commission on Catechesis, said that the return of in-person classes was a “very good decision.”
“It is a very good decision that the students will have face-to-face learning experiences like before, but it is only appropriate that every school does everything it can to eliminate the threat of the possible spread of Covid and other diseases,” he said.
Mangalinao also said that the Department of Education should consult experts in making decisions.
“Pray that all the decisions disclosed by the secretary of education have been consulted with experts in education, health, the police and the various branches of society that are very helpful in the education of young people,” the bishop said.
Education Secretary and Vice President Sara Duterte-Carpio ordered all private and public elementary and high schools to resume face-to-face classes on November 2.
