ACT: STUDENTS MAY NOT BE LEARNING MUCH

/ 7 September 2021

THE ALLIANCE of Concerned Teachers expressed fears that distance learning will leave students with little knowledge because there was no guarantee that distance learning is effective.

Basilio said that the country can implement “limited, voluntary, and targeted” face-to-face classes without risking students’ and teachers’ safety.

The Department of Education had proposed the holding of limited physical classes but President Rodrigo Duterte shot it down.

The DepEd had identified 100 schools where face-to-face classes can be conducted. It said that face-to-face classes will be held in areas with low or no Covid19 cases.
