203.3K MINORS GET COVID19 JABS
AROUND 203,357 minors aged 12 to 17 have been vaccinated against Covid19 as of November 7, the Department of Health said on Monday.
Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said the latest data from the National Vaccination Operations Center showed that about 0.10 percent of the vaccinated adolescents experienced adverse effects.
The common complaints were headaches, dizziness, and pain at the jab site.
“Lahat po ng ating kaso ng adverse events were all managed. They were all addressed and lahat po ng mga kabataan na nagkaroon ng ganitong reaksiyon ay nakauwi din naman po after proper management,” she said.
The pediatric vaccination began on October 15 and was expanded nationwide last week.
Vaccines made by Pfizer and Moderna were approved by the Philippine Food and Drugs Administration for adolescents aged 12 to 17 years old.
The DOH aims to vaccinate at least 80 percent of the 12.7 million children before yearend.
