AT LEAST 20 schools were damaged by Super Typhoon Karding, the Department of Education said on Tuesday.

The damaged schools were in Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Bicol Region, National Capital Region and Cordillera Administrative Region.
The estimated cost of repair was P112 million.
“Karding” blew out of the country on Monday.
Around 12,174,549 students in 21,509 schools were affected by the storm.
There were also 107 school divisions affected in Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Bicol Region, NCR, and CAR.
The department said 327 schools were used as evacuation centers, of which 259 are still currently being utilized.
