THE NATIONAL Union of Students of the Philippines endorsed the vice presidential candidacy of Senator Francis ‘Kiko’ Pangilinan.

In a statement, NUSP Deputy Secretary-General Coleen Mañibo said they support Pangilinan because of his “clean track record.”

“The Union is steadfast in its belief that Pangilinan will continue to uphold the principles he upheld during his time in the Union and guarantee that students are central in a future we are choosing to create together,” Mañibo said.

“We believe that he is the best candidate to ensure that the Filipino studentry makes great leaps towards a nationalist, scientific, and mass-oriented education,” she added.

Mañibo said that if he wins, Pangilinan can can build on his achievements such as the passage and signing into law of the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act in which he co-authored.

“His victory will symbolize our triumph against the disinformation peddled by the Marcos-Duterte tandem–a tandem whose very core undermines and opposes the kind of education that NUSP has long forwarded,” she said.

The student group also pledged to campaign for Vice President Leni Robredo and the Kabataan Party-list.
