KINUMPIRMA ni Senador Panfilo Lacsoon na nasa 14 ang senatoriables na posible nilang iendorso para sa May 2022 elections.

Ayon kay Lacson, kinokonsidera nila ni Senate President Vicente ‘Tito’ Sotto III na i-adopt ang 14 na kandidato sa halip na limitahan ang kanilang slate sa 12.

“We are thinking of adopting all 14 because we have candidates from Partido Reporma. We also have candidates from the NPC, Nationalist People’s Coalition, chaired by the Senate President, but there are candidates coming from different political parties and most of them are either incumbent senators or returning senators and these are our colleagues one time or the other,” pahayag ni Lacson.

“Ang initial plan namin is to adopt all 14 and we are only adopting them and we will campaign because we feel that they are the ones qualified to go to be elected as senators of the Republic,” dagdag ng senador.

Sinabi ni Lacson na sina Senators Sherwin Gatchalian at Richard Gordon ang latest addition sa kanilang slate.

Una nang binalak ni Grodon na sumabak sa presidential elections sa 2022 habang si Gatchalian ay pinuntirya ang vice presidency subalit kapwa sila naghain ng certificate of candidacy sa pagka-senador.

“Sobra ang nasa slate namin pero mabuti nang sobra kaysa kulang-kulang. After all, this is democracy kung piliin man namin ang 14, at the end of the day, iwanan namin sa Filipino people sa electorate, kung sino ang pipiliin nilang 12,” dagdag pa ni Lacson.

“But as of now, wala kaming nakikitang masama o mali kung 14 ang aming ipu-pursue kasi naniniwala kami sa kanilang 14, but at the end of the day the electorate will choose the final 12,” diin pa ng mambabatas.

Binanggit din ni Lacson sina dating Senador Francis Escudero, Loren Legarda, at JV Ejercito, gayundin ang mga reelectionist na sina Juan Miguel Zubiri at Joel Villanueva.

Idinagdag pa ni Lacson na mayroon din silang ‘surprise’ candidate na iaanunsiyo sa mga susunod na araw.

“Pero locked in. Ibig sabihin talagang sasama siya sa amin bilang isang candidate for the Senate,” paliwanag ng mambabatas.

Isasapinal nina Lacson at Sotto ang kanilang slate sa November 15 o sa deadline ng candidate substitution.
