WMSU HOLDS PINNING CEREMONY FOR NURSING STUDENTS

WESTERN Mindanao State University in Zamboanga City recently held its 46th Pinning Ceremony of the College of Nursing students.

The event had theme ‘A Testament of Academic Excellence and Commitment for World Class Professionals and Quality Service’.

The capping and pinning ceremony marks the welcoming of nursing students into the unity of nurses.

Zamboanga City Mayor John Dalipe served as keynote speaker and urged the graduating class to embrace the opportunity to serve in the city and to become compassionate healthcare professionals.

“Nursing is not just a job, it is a calling, a calling to serve, to heal, and to make a difference in the lives of others. It is a privilege to be entrusted with the well-being of patients and it is a responsibility that must never be taken lightly. Zamboanga City awaits your arrival, ready to embrace the care and compassion that you will bring,” Dalipe said.

During his speech, the mayor, who is also a nurse, shared his experience of having moments of self-doubt while he was a nursing student and praised the graduating class for their perseverance that saw them through the challenges and tough times.

“Your commitment to learning, your thirst for knowledge, your unwavering determination have brought you to this moment of success,” he said.
