WESLEYAN U STUDENTS CONDUCT SYMPOSIUM ON CLIMATE CHANGE

STUDENTS of the Wesleyan University-Philippines Cushman Campus recently conducted a community symposium on climate change in a bid to educate the community, especially the youth, on how they can help in responding to the global problem.

Initiated by the Master in Public Administration students, the symposium was held at the Nagaño Gym in Barangay Tambo Adorable in San Leonardo, Nueva Ecija on July 29. It was attended by over 100 individuals, including barangay officials, farmers, youth and other MPA students from Aurora and Cushman campus.

The event aimed to educate and encourage people to be active participants in responding to Climate Change.

It also sought to raise awareness and understanding, especially among young people, about the effects of climate change to enable them to make informed decisions and appropriate actions.

During the event, Emmanuel Nieto, municipal agriculturist of local government of San Leonardo, talked about the threats to health caused by a polluted environment, sources of pollution, and how citizens can help to prevent the destruction of nature.
