THE Visayas State University has named Dr. Prose Ivy Yepes as its seventh president, the school announced this last Monday (11 March 2024).

VSU said that Yepes came on top as per the preference of its Board of Regents, which decided that Yepes would suit best to help the university for the next four years.

Yepes bested Dr. Dennis P. Peque and Dr. Jinky B. Bornales for the position.

The new president succeeded Dr. Edgardo Tulin, who has been in the same position since 2015.

As per VSU, Yepes is already doing courtesy calls, introductory meetings, and signing a memorandum of agreement on her first official workday as president last Thursday (14 March 2024)

Yepes was also accorded arrival honors by the university’s Reserved Officers’ Training Corps and then she met with members of the Visayas Consortium for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Program which VSU leads.
