UST IMPLEMENTS TWO-DAY ACADEMIC BREAK
THE UNIVERSITY of Santo Tomas on Thursday announced that it will implement a two-day academic break next week.
“In consideration of the expressed needs of students, administrators, academic staff, and support staff, the University shall have an academic break from September 20 to 21,” UST said in an advisory.
All classes and office work will be suspended during the two-day academic break.
Last week, the UST Central Student Council called on school administrators to impose an academic break and show more consideration to students’ mental health.
The student body also asked school officials to put a cap on the number of tests, extend deadlines, and balance the number of synchronous and asynchronous classes.
Similarly, it appealed for an academic break “for the community to recuperate and continuously adjust amidst these challenging circumstances.”
