USC INAUGURATES FOUR NEW SMART CLASSROOMS

/ 4 August 2023

FOUR smart classrooms that will help enhance digitalization learning are now operational at the campuses of the University of San Carlos in Downtown and Talmban.

USC outgoing president Fr. Narciso Cellan, incoming president Fr. Francisco Antonio Estepa, and assistant vice president for academic affairs Atty. Joan Largo led the inauguration of the smart classrooms earlier this week.

The new facilities were donated by the Vicsal Foundation, Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation, USC Chemical Engineering Alumni, and USC Chemical Engineering Society Foundation.

During the ceremony, Largo expressed her gratitude to the alumni sponsors who made the smart classrooms a “dream come true.”

She stressed the need for “impactful, relevant, and transformative programs” while also making USC an eco-friendly and sustainable campus by converting classrooms into industry and workplace standards, so that learners will be work-ready and equipped for real-world challenges.

Cellan, on the other hand, highlighted the importance of collaboration, particularly when it comes to USC education.

“Hopefully, more alumni will be joining the bandwagon of ‘smartness.’ You have a place in USC and you can be very well part of our journey in enhancing education and improving the educational experience of our students,” he said.

Meanwhile, Estepa also expressed his support by highlighting the importance of empowering teachers and providing them the competence and skills with the help of technology and smart classrooms to enhance teaching, learning, and research.
