UPLB PRESENTS FACULTY DEVELOPMENT STUDY AT ELEARNING FORUM ASIA
THE UNIVERSITY of the Philippines Los Baños joined education experts from across the region at the eLearning Forum Asia (eLFA) conference held last month at King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi in Bangkok, Thailand.
Through the Center for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning (CATL), University Extension Specialist Beverly R. Pabro and Multimedia Production Specialist Joel Anthony Cardenas presented their research, “Advancing Teaching Excellence: Evaluation of a Faculty Development Seminar in a Philippine Higher Education Institution.”
The study examined how a training seminar equipped faculty members with essential skills and knowledge to thrive in digital learning environments.
Their presentation underscored the importance of continuous professional development “to enable teachers to adopt innovative teaching strategies, effectively use digital tools, and respond more inclusively to diverse student needs.”
CATL officials said their participation reflects the center’s ongoing efforts “to design and implement training programs that keep pace with the rapidly changing landscape of higher education.”
This year’s eLFA, themed “Digitalization of Learning Toward Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion,” explored how information technology can enhance teaching and learning across Asian institutions.
The annual eLFA conference rotates among Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Mainland China, Thailand, Indonesia, and the Philippines to promote collaboration and share best practices in digital education.
