THE UNIVERSITY of the Philippines-Los Baños conducted a safe driving seminar to brush up drivers’ knowledge on road safety essentials.

The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Community Affairs partnered with Honda Safety Driving Center Philippines for the project.

Some 164 UPLB drivers, including personnel who have been issued authority to drive, attended the seminar.

“Itaas natin ang karangalan at antas ng pagiging driver. Kapag sinabing UPLB driver, ibang klase ‘yan. Professional, prompt, drug-free, at disciplined ang mga yan. Yan ang tatak UPLB driver,” Cereno said.

Michael Mamalayan, a senior instructor at HSDC, acted as the resource person and covered a range of issues in relation to driving standards, traffic laws and regulations, conditions for drivers and riders, traits of a safe driver and analytical driving.

He urged the attendees to practice safe driving by asking them to consider their families before getting behind the wheel.
