UP, ADMU, DLSU DROP FROM QS RANKINGS

However, the country’s premier state university fell to 87th spot, 10 places lower than its 2022 rankings.
The Ateneo de Manila University also dropped by 10 spots to 134, as well as the De La Salle University which placed 171st from last year’s 160th.
On the other hand, the University of Santo Tomas climbed two spots to 175.
The 15th edition of the QS World University Rankings Asia included 757 institutions.
To assess the schools, QS used 11 indicators — academic reputation, employer reputation, faculty/student ratio, international research network, citations per paper, papers per faculty, staff with PhD, international faculty, international students, inbound exchange students, and outbound exchange students.
“This set of criteria, developed in consultation with regional experts and stakeholders, is designed to reflect key priorities for universities in Asia, drawing on as much available data as possible,” QS said on its website.
Saint Louis University, which was unranked last year, entered the list at 651-700 spot.
Other Philippine universities in the 2023 list include the Ateneo de Davao University (551-600), Mapua University (551-600), Silliman University (551-600), Mindanao State University – Iligan Institute of Technology (601-650), Central Luzon State University (651-700), Xavier University (651-700), Adamson University (701-750), Central Mindanao University (701-750), Central Philippine University (701-750), and Lyceum of the Philippines University (701-750).
