UNIVERSITY OF BATANGAS LAUNCHES PIONEER TV
THE UNIVERSITY of Batangas has launched an online platform that will broadcast campus news inside and outside the school.
“Despite the adversities we all are facing in a global scale, the University of Batangas Publications never falter to think of innovative approaches and flexible strategies for positive changes to exist and for truth to prevail at all times, at all cost, thus, we give you the PIONEER TV,” the university said on Facebook.
The online platform, a first in the province, will update viewers about school concerns, local events and good news that will be shared with the UB community.
The online platform also aims to fight fake news by providing the right information to students.
The university’s publications — The Westernian Pioneer and Tunog Pamantasan — were back to back winners as Best School Paper in the National Schools Press Conference, capturing 1st place in 2018 and 2nd in 2019.
In 2019, they also won the championship for Collaborative and Desktop publishing and Filipino writing categories at the NSPC.
Two students from these publications were declared the most outstanding journalists. Their adviser, Redentor Rodriguez, was named one of the most outstanding publication advisers.
The University of Batangas publications are also consistent finalists in the Catholic Mass Media Awards, with the Westernian Pioneer awarded Best School Organ.
