THE UNIBERSIDAD de Manila warned the public to be vigilant against solicitation scams on Facebook.

“Any wrong/unofficial information disseminated outside of the University’s official and unit-based accounts will not be the responsibility of Universidad de Manila,” UDM said in a statement.

It issued the warning following reports that some Facebook pages shared information about the university.

The school advised the public to subscribe to verified pages under its units that commonly publish information about the admission process and requirements, social amelioration programs, activities and events, academic and employment announcements, class suspensions, and news and feature stories.

The UDM urged the public to be cautious particularly in the submission of banking details, personal information and monetary proceedings.

It said that its account on Facebook is “Official: Universidad de Manila.”

“Other recognized unit-based online pages you can find in this link http://bitly.ws/yv5P,” the university said.
