UE URGED TO RELEASE GRADES, LIST OF SCHOLARS
A STUDENT group from the University of the East-Caloocan urged school officials to remind faculty members to be transparent and lenient in the release of grades.
Saida Manap, Central Student Council president, said the preliminary and midterm grades should be posted on the Student Portal before the given due dates.
“Avoiding conflict between students and their instructors due to late grade releases is critical in a virtual setting wherein difficulties are more likely to arise in reaching out to professors,” Manap said in a letter to UE President Ester Garcia.
“Also, we kindly request that all grades be made available for viewing as a form of leniency for those who have not yet fully paid their dues,” she added.
Manap also asked the administration to release the final list of scholars for the first semester of Academic Year 2021-2022.
She pointed out that many potential scholars are hoping for a timely release of the list.
“Their financial situation raises uncertainty as to whether or not they should pay within the month, for in the event they qualify, such payment could be used for other necessities and expenses,” Manap said.
“We ask that the list be released in a prompt manner to give leeway to deserving students with less financial stability,” she added.
Garcia earlier said that the final list of scholars will be released on September 10. However, the school has only released a partial list so far.
