UE STUDENTS TOP TOURISM RESEARCH CONFERENCE
A group of tourism students from University of the East Caloocan were cited as Best Research Presenters during the 9th Annual Tourism and Hospitality Student Research Conference of the Philippine Association of Researchers for Tourism and Hospitality.
Sofia Rapunzel Alonzo, Rebecca Rae Castro, Diane Patricia Chua, Hanzel Dela Peña, Lois Daizee Lopez, and Cathlyn Jhuliana Sesno were recognized for their study titled ‘Assessment Towards Travel Motivation on Destination Selection of University of the East-Caloocan Tourism Students.’
“(The paper) evaluated travel motivation based on destination selection, motivation factors, and purpose of travel, inclusive of other factors that may occur during the destination selection among UE Caloocan students, specifically those taking up Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management,” the university said.
UE Professor Galilea Lajara served as research adviser of the group.
The school commended the students.
“Congratulations, Winning Tourism Warriors!” it said in a Facebook post.
PARTH is a tourism and hospitality professional organization geared towards its advocacy of uplifting and developing research awareness and competencies of its members in the field.
It links academic and industry researchers to foster collaboration and collegiality and share best practices, policies, and programs on research that would help Philippine tourism and hospitality industries.
