TSU CHORALE BAGS 2 GOLD AWARDS IN TAIPEI INT’L CHOIR COMPETITION
THE TARLAC State University Chorale bagged two gold awards in the 2024 Taipei International Choir Competition.
Choirmaster Joshua Ysmael Fontanilla noted that the TSU Chorale was one of the smallest groups in the competition, which required at least 20 members but had no maximum limit.
The TSU Chorale won gold in Musica Sacra and championed Contemporary Music against 55 Asian groups with only 25 members.
To recall, the Chorale also won awards in their first participation in the competition last 2018.
With this achievement, the group also earned a spot in the Grand Prix qualifying round.
The group thanked the TSU community, especially President Dr. Arnold E. Velasco and the Office of Culture, Arts, and Languages led by Prof. Marcelino P. Balanquit.
The TSU Chorale is currently preparing for the CAASUC III regional competition. The group actively seeks opportunities to participate in more national and international competitions.
