TIP STUDENTS JOIN SAKURA SCIENCE EXCHANGE PROGRAM IN JAPAN
FOUR students from the Technological Institute of the Philippines participated in the prestigious Sakura Science Exchange Program (SSEP) in Japan this year.
The delegation included Jeshua Mikkel Abejero, Faye Angelu Aguirre, John Cyrell Jadormio, and Ma. Sophia Payang, all pursuing business and accountancy degrees.
Hosted by JF Oberlin University and facilitated by the Japan Science and Technology Agency, the SSEP promotes international collaboration and scientific exchange.
Under the mentorship of James Paul Menina from the College of Business Education, the students engaged in business lectures, corporate visits, and cultural exchanges.
Aguirre, a third-year BSBA-FM student, emphasized the program’s impact on her perspective, particularly how global partnerships foster economic growth.
Jadormio, a third-year BS Accountancy student, reflected on the importance of cross-cultural understanding in today’s interconnected world.
The TIP International Relations Office and the Career Center’s Student Development Program Unit helped prepare the students for the trip, focusing on travel logistics, cultural readiness, and academic engagement.
SSEP 2024 provided the TIP students with invaluable insights into Japanese technology and a deeper appreciation for global collaboration.
