SCHOOLS GATHER DONATIONS FOR FLOOD VICTIMS

SCHOOLS in Luzon and Mindanao moved to gather donations in whatever kind for flood victims in Cagayan.

The Cagayan State University Carig Campus, via the #RescuePH, #CagayanNeedsHelp, and #tatakcsucarig hashtags, appealed for spare cash, food, and clothing for families in the region whose homes and property were washed out by the floods.

“Cash, Food and Clothing for our brothers and sisters in Cagayan who were affected by the Flash Flood and Landslide caused by Typhoon Ulysses and Monsoon rains,” it said on Facebook.

CSU’s Carig and Andrews campuses were convered into evacuation centers.

Meanwhile, cash can be deposited at CSU Carig’s UCPB Account: 102160000825; G-Cash Account: 09271332483; or can be dropped off at the CSU Carig campus in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.

The Bataan Peninsula State University and the Jose Rizal University also started donation drives for the victims of Typhoon Ulysses that devastated huge areas in Luzon last week.

The BPSU Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Services Office appealed for cash, food, water, clothes and hygiene kits.

Donors can contact Mary Rose Basallo at 09286355289 or drop their donations at the BPSU main campus in Balanga, Bataan.

The JRU also knocked on kind hearts as it started garhering aid for the flood victims.

“In these trying times, we only have each other. Every donation counts,” JRU said on Facebook.

“Let’s continue praying for the affected families of Typhoon Ulysses,” it added.

Cash donations can be coursed through JRU’s BDO Account under the name Jose Rizal University Inc. with account number: 000218031965 or at Renante F’s Gcash account: 0905-283-9011.

Other donations can be dropped off at the JRU campus located at 80 Shaw Blvd., Mandaluyong City.

Meanwhile, the Davao del Norte’s State College Communication Society will hold an online concert to gather funds for flood victims from the Isabela State University.

The concert dubbed “Bente for UlyssesPH victims” aims to raise funds by accepting donations starting from P20.

“This will greatly help college students from ISU who are directly affected of the typhoon,” the group said.

The date and the performers at the concert will be announced later.
