MEDICAL program will soon be offered at Samar State University once the institution receives approval from the Commission on Higher Education.

CHED Chairman Prospero De Vera III said SSU has applied to open medical
program in the school and added it will be the first public institution to offer medical program in the Easter Visayas region.

“Merong application ang Samar State University na mag-open ng medical program. Baka sa mga susunod na buwan ay mag-qualify na sila at magkakaron na ng medical program sa Eastern Visayas,” the CHED chairman said.

“‘Pag natuloy ‘yan, madaming mabibigyan ng oportunidad na maging doktor diyan sa Eastern Visayas,” he added.

De Vera stressed the move will likewise help students in Eastern Visayas to receive top-notch education without traveling to Metro Manila.

In the World University Rankings for Innovation’s Fourth Industrial Revolution category, SSU retained the top rank.
