THE POLYTECHNIC University of the Philippines received a P75 million from the Office of Senator Pia Cayetano for the construction of a building and improvement of facilities.

Of the P75 million, P50 million will be allotted for the initial construction of the academic building and grounds improvement of PUP Taguig.

The university will allot P20 million for the construction of the sports facility in its main campus.

The remaining P5 million will be used for the university’s Futures Thinking Research and Artificial Intelligence.

PUP President Manuel Muhi thanked Cayetano for her support during the Senate plenary deliberations on the 2021 General Appropriation Bill that resulted in the allocation of a bigger budget for the university.

Muhi said that the fund will greatly help the university to improve its services.

“These funds will be used in innovative ways to improve the delivery of academic services in the above-mentioned campuses. Rest assured that updates and reports on the status of implementation of funds for these projects will be submitted to your good office,” he said.

“Thank you for making a huge difference in the home to more than 70,000 students and 5,000 faculty members and employees,” he added.
