PLM ANNOUNCES THREE-DAY WELLNESS BREAK
THE PAMANTASAN ng Lungsod ng Maynila declared a wellness break on Friday to give students and faculty time off from online learning.
Set November 3-5, the ‘wellness break’ seeks to help the physical and mental wellbeing of students and faculty members after a month of blended learning. It also aims to give them more time with their families.
Synchronous and asynchronous classes during the period is cancelled, according to PLM President Emmanuel Leyco.
“In keeping with the university policy to ensure the physical and mental health of students and faculty members during this pandemic, and to help students adjust to the new, flexible learning modalities, a three-day wellness break from November 3 to 5 shall be implemented,” Leyco said.
Meanwhile, professors are advised not to set deadlines or give requirements during the break.
Classes resume November 6.
Recently, several institutions in the country have announced either a wellness or academic break. Some of these institutions include iAcademy, Palawan State University, Bataan Peninsula University, Jose Rizal University, Mountain View College, Isabela State University, Malate Catholic School, Benguet State University, and University of the Philippines.
