/ 4 September 2021

THE PHILIPPINE Science High School System is ready to conduct limited physical classes once the government allows it, its Executive Director Lilia Habacon said.

Habacon said that measures are in place to ensure the safety of students and teachers.

“We have been preparing our classrooms, our physical facilities for a possible face-to-face classes. So that physical distancing can be achieved, we also have installed several preventive measures such as hand-washing, the toilets, the comfort rooms, the entrance and all other preventive measures that are suggested by the DOH and IATF prepared by the school,” Habacon said.

She added that the school hopes to resume the holding of physical classes once the situation allows it.

“For School Year 2021 to 2022, we have started our classes through remote learning. As far as the operation is concerned, depending on the IATF and the health status of the country, we are considering a limited face-to-face by next year if it will be allowed,” she said.

The Department of Science and Technology earlier said that PSHSS will continue to implement distance learning until December 2021.

DOST Secretary Fortunato de la Peña said that the students will continue to use the PSHS Knowledge Hub website for their education.
