PHILSCA REJECTS CALL FOR ACADEMIC EASE

/ 17 April 2021

THE PHILIPPINE State College of Aeronautics has rejected the appeal of the Supreme Student Council for academic ease.

The SSC asked the school administration to suspend synchronous classes amid the implementation of the Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine in the National Capital Region.

It also sought assistance for students in need of load allowance and those who tested positive for Covid19.

In rejecting the appeal, the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs said that it recommended to hold two synchronous classes for the month of April in response to the students’ appeal.

It added that the learning hubs in campuses are designed to help students in need of internet connection and can provide copies of learning modules free of charge.

The school said that the Office of the Student Affairs has been in constant communication with the students infected with Covid19 for necessary academic intercession.

“I wish also to point out again, that the administration is very much cognizant of the predicament of our students and employees and that we are doing the best we can to address their concerns within the limits and bounds of the law being a state-owned higher education institution,” it said.

“The precarious condition brought by the pandemic should not be a reason for the easing of academic activities that have already been tailored for the prevailing situation but rather we must indulge ourselves in activities that will enhance our resilience and ultimately ensure our survival,” it added.
