NWSSU WARNS AGAINST SOLICITATION SCAMS
THE NORTHWEST Samar State University warned the public against solicitation scams from individuals posing as members of the university.
It issued the warning after being notified that some individuals are soliciting money on behalf of the university using unverified cellular numbers.
Those behind the scam dropped the name of university president Dr. Benjamin “Benjie” L. Pecayo and his staff.
The university said it “does not tolerate any action by any of its officials and staff, directly or indirectly, that can compromise the integrity of the University.”
It urged those who will encounter fraudsters to report them to the university through its hotlines 09159134109 for Globe subscribers and 09602146066 for Smart subscribers.
