FORMER NU PLAYER RIKE SHRUGS OFF FRICTION WITH EXILED UAAP COACH AYO AHEAD OF 3X3 TEAM-UP

Fil-Am NU player Troy Rike and former Growling Tiger head coach Aldin Ayo chose to leave behind what’s in the past with their dispute back in 2018 as both veterans will have to see action in a 3x3 team-up.

Rike once dubbed the UST Growling Tigers as sneaky players for having dirty basketball tactics.

Nonetheless, Ayo as being the coach trying to protect the image of the team, fired back for being unfair.

“Kasi kami nakaka-receive din kami ng ganyan eh,” he said back in 2018 as he tried to justify the acts and added why he did not want Fil-Am players on his team.

And now, the direction of fate has turned upside down as Rike and Ayo who once were foes now became friends by contract as Ayo was named as the PH head coach of FIBA 3×3 tournaments.

Despite the innuendo back in their UAAP days, the Philippines’ No. 5-ranked 3×3 player chose not to let what happened in the past affect his team, Manila Chooks TM.

“It’s a good new direction,” Rike shared.

He propounded that what happened in the past was subsequently no longer substantial to him as he bats only for a continued winning as their 3×3 unit flies to Doha for the first time this season.

Moreover, Rike affirmed that what’s only left of him to feel for Ayo was respect and nothing less except for noting for Ayo’s skills for being a winner in every team he’s been with.
