NEW PLM BOARD OF REGENTS CHAIRMAN NAMED

/ 2 April 2023

THE PAMANTASAN ng Lungsod ng Maynila Board of Regents has a new chairman.

The university announced the appointment of Atty. Jose Ngaw as the new chairman of the Board, of which he’s been a member since 2019.

Prior to this, he once served as legal counsel of the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation or PhilHealth and held key positions in listed companies.

He succeeded Dr. Francisco Roman, Jr. as chairman of the PLM Board of Regents. Roman stepped down from his post due to health conditions.

During the visit of Taiwan National Cheng Kung University representatives at the PLM in October last year, Ngaw assisted them and made introductions to start conversations for cross-border collaboration on education and research with international educational institutions.

PLM President and Board of Regents vice chairman Emmanuel Leyco expressed confidence to Ngaw as the new chairman.

“On behalf of fellow members of the PLM Board of Regents, I am thrilled to continue working with Atty. Jose Ngaw this time as board chairman. I am confident the University is in good hands with him at the helm of the decision-making body,” Leyco said.

“PLM thanks Chairman Roman for his significant contributions and selfless service to the university,” Leyco added.

Atty. Ngaw serves the remaining years of the tenure of immediate past chairman Roman.

Apart from Atty. Ngaw and President Leyco, the Board is also composed of Regents Wilma Galvante, Atty. Relson Moral, and Division of City Schools–Manila Superintendent Maria Magdalena Lim.
