MSU-IIT STUDENTS AMONG FINALISTS IN 8TH PH STARTUP CHALLENGE
A GROUP of students from the Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology was among the top 10 qualifiers in the National Finals of the 8th Philippine Startup Challenge.
Team EYEWAY is composed of Al-Raffy Solaiman Sarip, Alvia Kaila Reyes Tubat and Leonhel Fortin.
The group, mentored by Dr. Orven Ebarle Llantos, aims to transform the road pavement monitoring system by employing AI and real-time data visualization.
During the regional pitching, EYEWAY bested 629 entries from 158 schools and universities nationwide.
“The competition process involves regional pitching where Team EYEWAY clinched first place. This is followed by the semifinal round where every region must submit a video pitch of their startup evaluated by a panel of esteemed experts with only 10 teams qualifying for the finals,” MSU-IIT said.
The team will represent Region X in the final stage of the Philippine Startup Challenge 8 next month in Cebu.
The Philippine Startup Challenge recently kicked off its annual startup competition, extending its reach to all regions in the country.
It aims to inspire and motivate college students “to develop innovative relevant ICT services that have the potential to evolve into viable business ventures.”
