LA SALLE DASMARIÑAS MOST SUSTAINABLE CAMPUS IN PH

THE DE La Salle Univerisity-Dasmariñas is the top eco-friendly and sustainable university in the Philippines, an international university ranking revealed.

For the second consecutive year, the De La Salle- Dasmariñas bested other universities in the country in terms of curbing carbon footprint and promoting green practices.

On a global scale, results of the UI GreenMetric World University Ranking 2020 showed that DLSU-D ranked 127th out of 912 universities — 36 notches down its previous ranking of 91st.

The ranking system, initiated by Universitas Indonesia, aims to promote the reduction of carbon footprint and ultimately contribute to the mitigation of global climate change while recognizing universities who are exerting efforts towards this end.

Universities are ranked based on their scores in the following areas: setting and infrastructure, energy and climate change, waste, water, transportation, and education and research.

DLSU-D slightly improved in setting and infrastructure from 625 to 750, but its score went down in waste from 1,650 to 1,575, and education and research from 1,525 to 1,425. The university maintained its scores on energy and climate change, water and transportation.

The other universities included in the rankings are the De La Salle University-Manila (191st), Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology (548th), Ateneo de Davao University (666th), Xavier University Ateneo de Cagayan (681st), and Foundation University in Dumaguete (819th).
