IACADEMY PARTNERS WITH CARTWHEEL FOR INDIGENOUS EDUCATION
iACADEMY has collaborated with Cartwheel Foundation Inc., an advocacy group dedicated to indigenous education, to develop Sinama ABCs worksheets.
These innovative educational materials aim to promote cultural appreciation and language preservation among the Sama-Bajau community.
Last year, iACADEMY partnered with Cartwheel Foundation Inc. to create Sinama ABCs worksheets. Each worksheet features engaging activities corresponding to every letter of the alphabet, integrating Sinama words rooted in the rich Sama-Bajau culture. Sinama, the language of the Sama-Bajau people, is an integral part of their heritage, and these worksheets serve as a means to preserve and promote it.
The Sinama ABCs worksheets were meticulously designed and illustrated by talented iACADEMY students. Their creative input and dedication have played a crucial role in bringing these educational resources to life. Through their work, students have contributed to the indigenization of the curriculum, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of indigenous cultures.
Indigenizing the curriculum not only enriches learning experiences but also fosters a sense of pride and identity among students. By incorporating Sinama words and cultural elements into educational materials, iACADEMY and Cartwheel Foundation Inc. aim to create a more inclusive and culturally sensitive learning environment. These efforts not only enhance learning outcomes but also promote cross-cultural understanding and appreciation.
iACADEMY’s collaboration with Cartwheel Foundation Inc. underscores its commitment to promoting indigenous education and cultural diversity.
By actively engaging in initiatives that celebrate and preserve indigenous languages and cultures, iACADEMY demonstrates its dedication to creating positive social impact and empowering marginalized communities.
