HOLY ANGEL U IN PAMPANGA EYES INNOVATION ON PSYCHOLOGY, COMMUNICATION PROGRAMS
THE HOLY Angel University in Pampanga seeks to improve its psychology and communication programs to better train students for their future career.
Members of the school’s Program Advisory Council for Psychology and Communication held a virtual meeting on October 29 and 30 to discuss ways to improve the two programs.
For the psychology program, officials cited the importance of mindfulness in the workplace and how it could support an individual’s well-being and enhance soft skills such as verbal and written communication.
“The program also needs to incorporate ways on how to train students to do proper test administration, screening, onboarding, and data management,” the university said.
“Furthermore, mental hygiene and mental health awareness could be the trend in the future and tech-related subjects may help the stakeholders in their future jobs,” it added.
Meanwhile, additional competencies were discussed to enhance the communication program such as interdisciplinary approaches in conducting research and producing outputs, managing teams/people online, and valuing the emotional needs of students in the time of pandemic.
“The industry partners see the hybrid set-up for the internship program particularly on television production. It was also advised to explore development and research works as alternatives for mainstream media. The borderless run of internship is also expected to prosper since all communications today are done online,” the university said.
It added that the virtual meeting showed the PAC’s commitment to find improvements and innovations for the university’s programs.
