FORMER PUP PRESIDENT DIES
The Polytechnic University of the Philippines mourned the passing of its former president Dr. Ofelia M. Carague.
Carague died on May 4, 2021 at the age of 83. The cause of death was not revealed.
“We are deeply saddened by the sudden demise of former PUP president Dr. Ofelia M. Carague. As we mourn the passing of our esteemed colleague, we also wish to thank her for her invaluable contributions to the University,” PUP said on Facebook.
“Dr. Carague was a respected educator and a true exemplar of quality leadership. She will be greatly missed. Our most heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and loved ones of Dr. Carague,” it added.
Carague served as PUP president from 1998 to 2003.
Carague also served as the first President of the Quezon City University in 2005.
