DLSU, UP AMONG WORLD’S BEST UNIVERSITIES
THE DE LA SALLE University made it to the list of the world’s best universities in the fields of education, business and economics, social sciences, computer science, and engineering.
The Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2022 placed DLSU at the 201-250 bracket in education, 601+ bracket in business and economics and social sciences, and 801-1000 bracket in engineering.
DLSU was the only Philippine university that was ranked in the fields of business and economics and education.
Vice Chancellor for Research and Innovation and University Fellow Dr. Raymond Tan was delighted that the university was recognized once again.
“DLSU’s presence in these subject rankings attests to its commitment to the generation of new knowledge as an integral part of higher education,” Tan said in a statement.
Meanwhile, the University of the Philippines maintained its position as the only Philippine school to be listed in the fields of clinical and health and life sciences.
UP was in the 126-150 bracket in clinical and health, and 801+ spot in life sciences.
It was in the 601+ bracket in social sciences, 801+ in computer, and 801-1000 in engineering.
In September, the DLSU’s physical sciences subject were ranked 801-1000, while UP was included in the 1000+ bracket.
THE WUR 2022 global rankings applied the same rigorous performance indicators as the World University Rankings, but were adjusted to suit the specific field.
Among the criteria used by THE to assess the schools are research resources, global outlook, productivity, and impact.
