IN CELEBRATION of Buwan ng Wikang Filipino, the DLSU Departamento ng Filipino has announced a one- day virtual conference with the theme, “Kumperensya Ng Mga Full-Time Na Guro: Ang Kahalagahan ng Wikang Filipino sa Buhay-Lasalyano at Kapwa Filipino”.

On August 15, the conference will feature diverse research papers of full-time faculty members of the department. This is free and open to the public via Facebook live from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The presenters will deliver educational topics on the role of Wikang Filipino about education, economics, politics, culture, arts and mass media amid the Covid19 pandemic.

“Tunghayan ang mayamang mga paksa, multi/interdisiplinaryong kolaborasyon, at tuklas-kaalamang may kinalaman sa ating wika, edukasyon, lipunan, kultura, sining, media, ekonomiya, politika sa kasalukuyang sulirinaning hinaharap natin dulot ng pandemyang Covid19,” DLSU Departamento ng Filipino said in a Facebook post.

The department is offering a month-long lecture series and activities on Wikang Filipino in the aspects of teaching, research and extension programs for teachers and students.

“Salubungin natin ang Buwan ng Wika 2020 sa pamamagitan ng pakikilahok sa mga makakabuluhang talakayan, panayam at gawain sa intelektuwalisasyon at pagsusulong ng Wikang Filipino bilang wika ng iskolarsyip, paglilingkod, pagtuturo, pagkatuto at pakikikipagkapwa-tao,” the department said.
