BATANGAS STATE UNIVERSITY COMPUTER SCIENCE PROGRAM RECEIVES INT’L ACCREDITATION
THE US-BASED Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology-Computing Accreditation Commission has officially awarded international accreditation to the Batangas State University’s Bachelor of Science in Computer Science program.
In a letter sent to the Dean of College of Informatics and Computing Sciences on August 26, ABET-CAC congratulated the successful evaluation and assessment of the program during the commission’s accreditation visit held last November 24-26, 2019.
BSU President Tirso Ronquillo acknowledged and commended all the officers, faculty members, staff and students of CICS for this feat.
“This accreditation of our computer science program gives assurance to students, parents and industries of the quality of computing education that Batangas State University provides,” Ronquillo said.
Aside from the Computer Science program, the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology program also received accreditation by ABET-CAC in 2016.
This is in addition to the eight engineering programs in the university that have already been accredited by the ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission in 2014.
ABET accreditation is recognized worldwide through international agreements, paving the way for graduates to work globally. It provides assurance that a university program meets the quality standards of the profession for which that program prepares its graduates.
