PCS, UP HOLD WEBINAR ON RIGHTFUL VOTING FOR YOUTH

The Philippines Communication Society will host a webinar on communication and democracy in advance of the elections next year.

The PCS will host “Bata, Bata Mulat KNB? The Youth Vote in 2022,” the second webinar in the series “National Forum on Communication and Democracy: Philippine Elections 2022,” in collaboration with the University of the Philippines’ TVUP.

This webinar will be broadcast live on TVUP and the PCS Facebook page on Wednesday, September 8 from 9 am to 11 am.

James Jimenez, spokesman for the Commission on Elections, Benedict Ignacio, president of the Philippine Sociology Society, and Jeremiah Joven Joaquin, president of the Philosophical Association of the Philippines will be the speakers of the said event.

In addition, UP Student Regent Louise Co, President Caroline Jane Picar of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines Communication Society, and President Jhon Marlou Abcede of the PUP-Aspiren youth organization will speak on behalf of the youth.

The roundtable discussion examines the role of youth in next year’s presidential elections and the role that young people can play in a democracy, as well as launching community and online political debates.
