EXPANDED MILK PROGRAM LAUNCHED IN MANILA PUBLIC SCHOOLS
THE MANILA City Government has officially launched the expanded Yormilk 2.0 program, providing free fresh milk to kindergarten and Grade 1 learners in all public schools in the city as part of efforts to improve child nutrition and learning outcomes.
The distribution of fresh milk started this week, marking the full implementation of the enhanced program with a wider coverage of beneficiaries.
According to Manila Schools Division Office Superintendent Sheryll Gayola, a total of 41,142 bottles of fresh milk were distributed on the program’s first day.
Under the expanded Yormilk 2.0 initiative, the city government increased its coverage from preschool learners to include all kindergarten and Grade 1 pupils enrolled in Manila’s public schools.
Beneficiaries will receive free fresh milk three times a week to support their nutrition, overall health, and academic development during their crucial formative years.
The Manila City Government said the expansion underscores its commitment to investing in the welfare of young learners by ensuring they have access to nutritious food that can help promote proper growth and improve classroom performance.
Yormilk 2.0 is among the city’s education and nutrition programs aimed at promoting healthier students and providing stronger support for public school learners.
