DEPED CHIEF LEADS DIALOGUE SESSION AT PARAÑAQUE NHS

/ 28 June 2026

EDUCATION Secretary Sonny Angara held a dialogue session with parents, teachers, learners, and alumni at Parañaque National High School on Friday.

During the discussion, Angara assured teachers of the Department of Education’s full support while emphasizing the need for strict accountability in cases of campus abuse and harassment.

In response, the school’s faculty, student leaders, and alumni association expressed their united commitment to ensuring the safety of learners and promoting transparency and accountability. They also appealed for support for teachers who are not involved in any wrongdoing but have been subjected to harassment.

Following the dialogue, the education chief conducted a comprehensive school safety audit at the campus as part of the Department of Education’s nationwide School Safety Campaign, which aims to strengthen security measures in public schools.

In the wake of recent campus security incidents, Angara also directed the implementation of a multi-layered security strategy under the nationwide School Safety Campaign to help prevent similar tragedies.

The strategy includes deploying handheld metal detectors, updating emergency response drills, and strengthening confidential reporting mechanisms for cases of bullying and violence.
