OVER 55,000 POLICE PERSONNEL TO BE DEPLOYED FOR OPENING OF CLASSES
THE PHILIPPINE National Police (PNP) announced that more than 55,000 police personnel will be deployed nationwide to ensure peace and order during the opening of classes on June 8.
“We can see here that we will deploy not less than 55,000 personnel, including force multipliers nationwide,” said Police Brigadier General Rogelio Peñones Jr., acting chief of the PNP Directorate for Operations.
Peñones said deployment plans have already been finalized in preparation for the nationwide school opening.
PNP chief Police General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. stressed that ensuring the safety of students is a shared responsibility among schools, law enforcement, and other government agencies.
“Hindi lang pulis ang may papel dito. Kailangan tulong-tulong tayo—lalo na ang school officials, local government units, at iba pang ahensya na nagpapatupad ng batas—para mapanatili ang katahimikan sa lugar,” Nartatez said.
