SENATOR Sherwin Gatchalian welcomed the launch of 50% discount beep cards for students, calling it a timely relief for young commuters burdened by rising education and transportation costs.

“I welcome the launch of the 50% discount beep cards for students. This is a welcome relief for students who are struggling with tight budgets to meet their education needs,” Gatchalian said.

He urged the management of MRT-3, LRT-1, and LRT-2 to ensure the smooth implementation of the program so students can fully benefit from the discounts.

“Along with providing discounts, we must also guarantee the comfort and safety of students during their daily commute,” he added.

The discounted beep cards are expected to help thousands of students across Metro Manila, easing the financial burden of daily travel to and from schools and universities.

Implementation of the discounted Beep cards was ordered by President Marcos.
