TWO  faculty members from the Nursing Department of Bicol University represented the country at the recently concluded Advanced Digital Healthcare Professional Training Program hosted by Taipei Medical University.

Nursing Professors Albert Balace of BU Tabaco and Lorena Liao of BU Polangui were among 27 healthcare professionals from the Philippines, South Korea, and Myanmar who participated in the program.

“This international training strengthens BU’s global partnerships, enhances faculty expertise, and supports the university’s ongoing efforts toward curriculum innovation and internationalization in nursing education,” the university said.

The training provided an in-depth orientation to TMU Doctorate programs in Nursing, Gerontology, and Long-Term Care.

Key highlights included a comprehensive tour of Wanfang Hospital, TMU’s affiliated tertiary medical center operated in collaboration with the Taiwanese government, and sessions on AI in aging care, value-based healthcare, and disaster management.

The initiative, supported by Taiwan’s Ministry of Education, aims to promote global academic exchange and healthcare innovation.
